Emcon begins spring highway patching

The nice and relatively early start to spring has its pluses and minuses on our roads.

Emcon division manager Len Lawson says bridge washing and the removal of winter salts and gravel from the highways is going very well.

But the warm April weather means rockfall is an issue.

He says motorists need to be mindful of that and be aware of crews as they clean up shoulders and start patching up potholes.

The ministry is expected to announce some paving work in the Kootenay Boundary in the weeks to come.
