Apart from the excitement on the ice the Cyclone Taylor Cup hockey tournament in Nelson this week also equals a few extra dollars around town.
The potential for a mini-boost in the local economy is not lost on Nelson Chamber executive director Tom Thomson.
Thomson says it’s nice to have the buzz of two visiting teams from the island and Lower Mainland and their entourages.
But he adds it’s also good to have the local rivalry of Nelson and the newly crowned KIJHL champion Beaver Valley Nitehawks in the four-team line-up.
