A message from Nelson police not to mess with the bylaw officer in the downtown.
A man walking a dog in the restricted zone failed to provide ID to the bylaw officer and walked off.
The police were called and they detained him while they established his ID.
He was ticketed for the dog infraction and given a police warning for failing to comply with the peace officer.
