Grand Forks sets real estate policy

Grand Forks has beefed up their real estate policy in an effort to sell some surplus property.

Mayor Brian Taylor says the city is not into the land speculation game and properties they’ve held for many years should be sold off.

This could help new development or industry or to secure beneficial community services.

He says the city wants to hold onto key waterfront land but there are many other pieces elsewhere.

The idea is to generate income and boost the tax base for the benefit of everyone.
