Clearing the air regarding downtown closure

Kootenay Savings Credit Union is responding to what they’re calling misinformation in the community about the impending closure of their Downtown Castlegar Branch.

Organisers of a petition say as many as 300 people have signed calling for it to remain open.

But KSCU VP of Marketing Dario Cescon says they are responding to customer needs by offering a six day service at their newer Crossroads Branch.

And he adds there was no plan to close downtown and they figured the two sites would be viable.

Cescon hopes Castlewood Village seniors facility can add the new branch to their bus route saying he sympathizes with those customers who will lose the downtown convenience when the branch closes Friday May 2nd.
