The Lower Columbia Community Development Team will live for another three years after a new deal with the Columbia Basin Trust.
The agreement is worth $600,000 over that time, which is being split equally each year.
Co-chair Mike Martin says the seven municipal and electoral areas in the region each have a representative and it’s important to note none are politicians.
He says there are some difficulties between municipal governments in the region and they didn’t want that carried over into a non-partisan initiatve.
The agreement comes after the group looked to be done for at the end of 2013 following the RDKB’s decision cut ties with economic development.
