Creston Town Council have given themselves, and the Mayor a raise.
The unanimous decision sees just over a 5 % increase effective January 2016.
Councillor Kevin Boehmer says a review of the council remuneration policy wasn’t done by the previous council.
Boehmer says the amount of the increase brings Creston up to par with other communities of the same size.
As of January next year, the Mayor will earn $26, 000 and each Councillor will receive $13, 000 annually.
