Power rates for Fortis BC customers are going up 1.6 %Â tomorrow.
Company spokesman Michael Allison admits it’s unusual to have two increases in the same year.
Rates went up 3.5 % in January and a further increase next January is also possible.
The company says the hikes are necessary to upgrade their system and buy additional power during peak times.
