A $2 million renovation could be coming to the fitness centre at the Castlegar and District Community Complex.
Castlegar and District Recreation Commission has applied to the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure program through the RDCK.
Manager of Recreation Jim Crockett says the project was ranked second on the Regional District’s list.
Crockett points out the Feds may decide to fund a number of projects proposed by the Regional District and that’s why a ranking is necessary.
The recreation commission has committed $1.25 million to the upgrade and the Canada 150 grant would provide $500,000 while the Columbia Basin Trust would pitch in $250,000.
